Making my Bowie..evolution

Upon re-reading what I typed above, I did come across a bit gruff. Hopefully in person I wouldn't seem that way. Good luck with your project.

Please believe me when I say I was referring to my own posts.

I took what you said as constructive and your last question put that into perspective. Thank you for your post(s)

Sounds like you are ready to go, blade + stag = bowie. Now you just need to decide what part of the antler to use, a period bowie would probably look best with the crown (older kind of look). and figure if you want a guard or not. You can buy some premade guards at Texas Knife Supply, just need to make sure the match the thickness of your blade. Below is a quick example of using a crown.

The term Bowie Knife has been tossed about pretty loosely, however, that give you alot of room for your own interpretation. Good Luck

That crown stick that is on your post is exactly what I have and want mounted. Guard? Texas Knife sup....? That would be your job. Mine is only selecting from your suggestions. I am not qualified to do anything else.

Have you put together yet that I am the guy you are going to answer? Did you get my email? I am looking forward to working with you(stated loosely).

The Cold Steele Laredo Bowie is a defined item in terms of design and materials. I think the crown stick will look very nice. Some of this is impossible to estimate without having the blade in your hand. How about I send you the blade for your estimate?
