I put the pictures up in the makers forum but since this will be my bushcraft knife i wanted to get some of the fellow outdoorsmans thoughts on this blade.
its only about half done. it made from 1080 scandi grind and will have a G10 handle

any comments on it would be appreciated (good or bad)

my camera is a relic (over a year old:confused:)

It's lookin pretty good to me buddy so far !

IMO it's the handle that makes or breaks a bushcraft knife so I'll be interested to see how the scales turn out !!!

that looks like James Todd G10- I've used some on a personal blade but haven't made any for sale yet. Pretty durable stuff, and available nice and thick.

Don't bother dulling power tools on it for cutting, just use a hacksaw

I like the profile. I'm not especially keen on palm swells and much prefer a handle my hand closes in to. Cool. The drop on the point is quite pronounced and I like that too. I find big belly knives with loads of upsweep a handicap for anything other than a dedicated meat processing knife. Yours on the other hand recovers loads of cutting edge. That's much more useful to me both in terms of general utility, stick and rope work, and field food prep. A nice full height grind would complete what looks like a very promising package to me, and I really don't dig on the Scandi thing. But if Scandis work for you that could be the icing on the cake. Be good to see it when you're done.

I like the blade shape a lot, looks good for a general bushcraft knife. Not such a fan of the handle shape, but that's a very personal thing I'm finding.
