Greetings,

Thinking about forming my own knife scales out of micarta, and/or G10. Can anyone provide some info/link on how to begin?

Thanks in advance for your thoughtful replies...Cheers.

YouTube has tons of how-to videos. Build a simple form with wood, pick up some fiberglass resin from home depot or lowes, and prepare for a mess and a strong odor. Unless you're trying to make a unique color I would highly recommend just buying it from knife kits or another website. It's a huge mess and the savings are almost nothing.

USAknifemaker has some micarta scales at really low prices. I found it easier to work and grind than my homemade stuff.
