Making my wife 2 kitchen knives. What WHITE handle material?

In the OP he said that the plan was to cut the blanks out with a NC Laser. I think I've seen in the past that is a bad idea because the "Heat Affected Zone" from the laser cut will be wide enough to affect the alloy at the edge of the blank. Others much smarter than I will chime in and correct if I'm wrong.

I apologize for missing the laser cutting thing. :o

But the good thing is that it is an interesting technique that I will surely try Patrick, thanks for sharing.

I made a set of hunter orange Corian scales for one of my Spyderco Mules. It is an incredibly easy material to work with in the shop. It cuts and shapes very well - and responds to sanding without clogging up. Corian is also tough as nails and can really take some abuse. I've dropped them a few times and never had a crack. And you can just buff them back out to bring back the shine. Great stuff.

As far as the HAZ on a laser cut blank, I have done quite a few hundred that way, and had no problem. You just grind the edges back a few hundredths while shaping.
