i got hand forged silversteel puuko blade from a friend,and i have some some birch bark in drawer,just needed brass pieces sorted out ;)

Dremel was indispensable in preparing birch bark

after some time under special knife clamp,something like this ;)

then smoothed with sandpaper

removed piece of antler(handle was bit too long)and finally peened tang..now just to finish sheath...

Jumalauta! :eek: You'd better come here as you've got the skills of a native in putting the handle on that! Of course it wouldn't be Etna cured birch but hardened by our long and ferocious winters :D:thumbup:

couple more photos of belt loop,sorry for bad light,but you get the idea.
Finally,sheath is soaked in beeswax and that's it.

Nice piece. Who forged the blade? Don't see many with sharpening choils.

How strong is that style of belt loop attachment? Any problems with the leather coming out of the holes? Or did you use glue?
