Making plans for Blade show

So, last year there was a fair number of us Beckerheads (see how I tied that into our li'l sub-forum... :D) That went to Blade and had a good ole time. However we were ALL OVER the place when it came to lodging and yada yada yada... I figured since now we know when Blade will be (June 5-7 in case you didn't know) and passes are now available, I'd start a thread to get an idea of where everyone has their reservations or is planning on getting them and maybe we can coordinate something.

I'm planning on flying this year, I don't have the extra time off work so that sucks, so I will be at the mercy of public transportation and shuttles. I was looking at staying at the Sheraton, but I haven't done the reservations yet...

I`ll just throw my bag in at the Sheraton Suites I guess..
Lennox hooked me up with a room through Knifehunter..
By the way, I`ll be flying in at the 3. Takes to long to row the pond, LOL...

I'll be at the Turkey Nest. I'd tell you where that is but then... you know the rest.

It often comes up to plan a get-together of some sort, but there's so much going on that weekend and people have such different schedules, it's often difficult to get more than a couple people together at once, short of actually making reservations/booking a spot.

Whatever you do, don't ask Guyon for directions. Anywhere. For any reason.

Cbear, you got a suit this time ? I will crash on the couch ..lol

I do have a suit, I wasn't planning on bringing it though. I am getting a suite I believe though. I called E today, but he was pretty busy so we didn't get to really set up any plans.

I'm driving down this year-so i can bring more knives (and some swords)-from Vermont :/
At the wingate again-right across the street and pretty nice rooms.

If you want to know how to get to the Pit, I'm your man. Plan to walk a lot.

Yup. Something on the order of seventeen miles through abandoned strip malls, endless unlit spooky parking lots and the mind-rending horror that comes to pass when stumbling through a Busse customer-appreciation buffet and stealing pocket-fulls of medium-sized shrimp from it... and nearly getting your ass kicked for it. Good times! :p

In all seriousness, every hotel/motel in ATL knows where the BLADE show and the Pit are... and most of them have free shuttles to/from. If I had thought of that in the first place, it would have saved a great deal of wear-n-tear on my wife's bum knee, and I wouldn't still be paranoid about someone finding out where I hid that corpse...

and miss the North Atlantic in winter?!

I still have no idea where the hell you went. All you had to do was go down the hallway, veer left, go through some double doors, head down another hallway, pass a set of ballrooms, ride an escalator down, and caw like a crow and wait for a response. Simple. Why you ventured outside is beyond me. I mean, there are Busse congregations out there.

Biscuit is the "go to" guy for any directions/travel plans you need. We got a comprehensive 45 minute tour of Cobb Parkway last year, only to wind up eating at place a block from the room. He's the first call you need to make. Oh...and make sure his spare keys are duct taped to his balls.

If anyone would like directions to Atlanta, I can recommend a great hotel in Des Moines for the first night at Blade.
