Making plans for Blade show

Yup. Something on the order of seventeen miles through abandoned strip malls, endless unlit spooky parking lots and the mind-rending horror that comes to pass when stumbling through a Busse customer-appreciation buffet and stealing pocket-fulls of medium-sized shrimp from it... and nearly getting your ass kicked for it. Good times! :p

Please recount the full story, I haven't heard it yet. :D

I'm trying as hard as I can to forget.

I still have no idea where the hell you went.

Nor do I. Some memories are better off repressed... I sure wish you'd stop bringing it up :grumpy:

Why you ventured outside is beyond me. I mean, there are Busse congregations out there.

Actually, no... the Busse thang was the only part that was actually indoors.

The shrimp on their hi-falutin' "buffet" wasn't very good, either. I've had better from a ghetto gas station... among classier clientele. :thumbdn:

Busse shrimp is the best in the world. They use a proprietary seasoning called "shrimfi".

and miss the North Atlantic in winter?!

Been there, done that!

Ain't got that size boat Travis, but if I start now maybe my 14 foot/20hp would be there about Blade, LOL....
Well, of to pack the bag and stock the cooler before heading to the dock..... See ya.....

I can recommend a place in Rockford,Il that doc and I stayed at. Fantastic place!

See? This guy got directions to Blade from me, and he's not complaining. 800 miles, give or take, is a pretty good margin for error.
I can guarantee you'll at least be as close as Bridgeport, Connecticut.

You too can stay at places with accommodations for harvesting organs! Places that look like this

atlanta is both easy and hard to navigate. when i had my car down there, the gps and phone worked good

knowing a native helps, but everything is on that main drag, unless you wanna go far afield

good food

good friends

i like the hotel across the street, use the walkway, take a friend, don't get mugged

hope i can go this year. it's a good time.

I live in Gwinnett County (just NE of the Atlanta perimeter). I've never been to the Blade Show though. It would be nice to meet some members.

Being from AL, and having grown up in the county, even I tend to stay out of downtown Atlanta. If you're not from this area you should at least check out the Atlanta Aquarium while you're here. The tickets are expensive, but it is worth it. I haven't done the tour of the Coca-Cola plant or CNN, but those are probably interesting too.

Is it a problem if you CCW at the Blade Show? MARTA (public transit) allows CCW.

One thing we should probably do is have a thread where people can check in and let others know when/what they're doing. That might make it easier for of the members to meet while there (of course you guys may have done that for the past shows, I don't know).

If you're coming from the North and like authentic Korean/Chinese food let me know. We have some great restaurants around here. If you're near a Jim N Nick's BBQ you should definitely give them a try too. Their prices are a little bit higher than some BBQ places, but so is the quality of their food.

Dude, I've worked in that area right behind a Korean restaurant on a cell phone tower. I found live traps baited with frisky's. No thanks.

Cat is a good lean meat. I don't understand the problem.
