once on a river shore i found shoes (derby style) left over,
covered wth dirt and moss, i cut the sole off, and kept the leather aside for a while.
when needed, i trimmed it to size, then folded it rivet it ,i had to get rid off crap on it, using various method, Marseille soap, neatsfoot oïl, and leather grease to secure the wole thing i use a strip of car inner tube. (wich is less sexy than the nicely tooled leather).
