I've just come across this neat wee video on UTube. I'm guessing the smithing shown here would have been done in a fairly similar manner for hundreds of years. I would have liked to have seen the details of their blower device...it seems to be simple yet effective.

Wow - that was just amazing. The buyer was right there to burn his initials in.

I woner how that handle holds on to the wood. I suppose it just gets pounded in over time and stays put.

Cool video. I kept thinking that white chicken which was laying next to forge was going to lose its head at anytime!
