"Mall ninja" clarification needed

Some of biggest mall ninja knife carriers out there are Marines. I say this as I was in the Marines for 12yrs surrounded by them/us. Myself and my buds carried some goofy ass knives on many a deployment. Why? We didn't know now better. The Exchanges sell some cheap Rambo-esque knives, but now I know better and soon you will too!

Its not a mall ninja knife if you use it and it serves you well. My opinion only. TOPS and Dark Ops stuff are more reliable that Mantis, some of the S&W knives, VTech and many other cheap-o deluxes from China and Pakistan.

Well said. I think "mall ninja" is a state of mind and attitude. A friend of my sister's could take on half a dozen thugs if he was armed only with a butter knife; a friend of ours, a 17-year old seeded tennis player, could beat our club champion if she was using a frying pan. OTOH, I know a few wannabees who own every high-priced tactical toy you can think of and if the sh*t hit the fan for real, they would probably faint on the spot.
 
It's hard to really define a Mall Ninja knife; you know one when you see one. Generally, a Mall Ninja knife is ONE step above this:
