Mammoth ivory bark for knife scales. 10 pieces between 4 and 7 inches long x minimum 2 inches wide x 1/16th to ¼ thick. Total weight 1 pound 12 ounces. All solid from the same piece . Deep rich colors all the way through, blue red green etc. Main issue if any is a tad on the thin side. Great for folders for sure, might need spacer material for bigger knives. Should get over an inch wide sets if desired, or split the 2 inch width for matched sets of 1 inch and under. Enough for 10 large sets 1 x 5 inches. . I did not do anything to these but cut to lengths, so not paying for much labor work. The more I do to this material the higher the value. If I polish and show you the colors I may as well spend 10 more minutes per set and make high end finished sets and double my money. So you take a chance on this rough, but this is knife scale material in its basic form in the rough. $330 . Sold

Look at above pictures. If I showed you this piece ‘rough’ (left) you would say it is worth? How much? Pretty ugly right! So I pretty much gotta do a rough shine somewhere on it to show - now look at the right. Now you think it is worth how much? Blues greens alligator pattern grade A now

I did not know it for sure till I sanded it. Now it’s worth more. I can offer this in the complete rough, you take a chance . What level would you like in on? As a set of scales this is maybe $180 finished, saving $65. (I could spend 15 minutes and make $65 more, selling this piece as a finished set).

Total sounds like a lot, but I see at least 6 nice sets on the surface with more sets possible of inner material . At 6 grade A sets that’s $116 paid for sets that should be worth minimum $150 each, or $200 savings over buying rough sets.

To buyBest to buy off my web site using my shop cart These items are at the bottom of the page . link here http://www.milesofalaska.net/knife_Materials_Ivory/default.html
Just above these I have some raw ivory price breakdowns from an $8,000 tusk – 26 pound sections, down to a pound.
I was asked to show more material in a rougher state . Mammoth ivory is what I can offer the best deals on . Mammoth ivory is a high end material. Some knife makers will not be able to afford it. There is lower quality to sell, but if it’s not pretty it seems of little interest. I have such material on the web site if interested.

Hi Miles, I haven't tried any of your material before, but I just sent payment for the lot of ten pieces. Figured I'd try it out.

Jack

Hey Jack- got payment, order headed out Monday. If it's not what exepected or cant use return it for credit or refund, but think you will be happy with this.

Miles, I would of been all over the 10 piece selection. If you have any more similar deals. shoot me a message or email please. Im sure we can work something out!

Hey Randy
Winter is here, the dark cold time, so in the shop more, sorting cutting etc. Cutting up a full tusk, dealing with scraps. Unsure what you might prefer. It might be good to make a pile- send you a picture. I forget, think I sent you a package once to look over, but the finished sets were to small? Rough is prefered? Will stay in touch. Miles
Ps Iforgot, I have tusk sections 10 to 30 pounds looking good pretty solid blues, $120 a pound but needs drying still, but later worth a lot more dry and cut up.
