mammoth ivory sebenza?

If you mean are they making any limited edition Sebenzas with ivory - well I haven't seen one.

They have been making the Classics with ivory inlays, you can see one at truenorthknives.com and I have seen them on Ebay and maybe knifeart.

The classic Sebenza comes in ivory. I think that I saw one on True North Knives. I have a 2005 large limited edition in bark ivory on order. I'll probably have a long wait. Yeah they're out there but they are rare. I have a bark ivory Mnandi. It's the left handed one on the CRK website.  :D ;) :p

I called CRK they can do one in creme LE Price + $150, or bark LE price + 190.

Don't quote me on those prices, I think that was for the small sebs.

Or, I believe, you can "retrofit" a LE with mammoth ivory too.

those prices seem a little expensive seeing how the wood inlays run $75 to be refitted.
Ever work with ivory? It takes alot of time to do it right so the ivory doesn't crack. That and the fact that mammoth ivory is also expensive to begin with. I would say those prices are right on target.

Adi if you are talking about the ivory small Sebenza for $450, That is a fantastic price! Someone who needs a small classic, this would be the one to get!!!!!!

yes, it's about $100 off the normal price. I've been thinking about it for a while, just can't quite pull the trigger.

Blackend - know what you mean about acronyms, but they allow for rapid communication, provided their meaning is understood.

BTW :) , there is a big difference between the Classic inlaid with mammoth ivory and a LE (limited edition) retrofitted with ivory. The LEs are made each year with wood inlays - 60 of each large and small models. The LEs are based on a regular Sebenza platform.

Thanks for the school lesson on acroynms Geode. I still think they are used way to much in our society... :barf:

Anyhow getting back to the inlayed Sebbies. I've been buying and using Chris Reeve's products since 96'. Believe me when I say I've owned more than 2 dozen Sebenzas'. Everything rangeing from the orignal classic to the "Limited Edition" wood one's, and a few I'm sure some guys even here on the forums have never seen! As you spoke correctly about the differences from the Classic to the "L.E."; Lets not forget the limited editions in wood start at about $550. With mammoth ivory, I can imagine it would cost a bit more than that. The only other material I've seen on a limited was girraffe bone. That's not saying there hasn't been other natural materials used on therm. The Classic with ivory on ebay was asking only $450. A pretty respectable price in my book!

;)

OK, I found my notes from when I called CRK, I might of made a mistake so just think of this as ballpark, speaking of limited editions only:

Creme ivory adds $100 to the price of the limited edtion, so
for a small thats $615 or large $650

Bark ivory adds $150 to the price of the limted edition so
a small would be $665 and a large $700.

I bought this one from a fellow forumite back in October. It's a small regular with mastodon ivory, now my EDC.

When did they start making the “Mammoth Sebenza”? I thought “Large” was as big as they got. How long is the blade?
