First of all this is a re-post on the knife but with a different display. I have been looking for a complete tooth and jaw display to go with the knife for a long time and finally found one. Now about the knife.I ground this blade out of ATS34 steel with a chisel grind and a distal taper.The blade has a very smooth blasted finish except for the polished spine with brass mosaic inlaid pins and file work.Mammoth tooth handle with slotted guard soldered and pinned with two brass mosaic pins and black acrylic spacer.Pommel is Mammoth ivory and mosaic pin with black acrylic spacer.
Knife OAL;11 5/8 inches
Blade;ATS34 steel 6 3/8 inches and 3/16 thick
Handle;Wholly Mammoth Tooth
The display that comes with the knife is a beautiful specimen of a Mammoth #3 molar and upper jaw. The display weighs 13 lbs. and it is approx. 10 1/2 inches in length, 7 1/4 inches wide at widest point and approx. 8 inches in height. You could cut the tooth out of the jaw and get a couple handles but the display is much more valuable left intact. Mounted on the right piece of material the tooth and knife would really be beautiful. Anyway thanks a bunch for taking a look
