Mammoth tooth treatment ?

I just bought a big piece of mammoth tooth. It's not stabilized. Is stabilizing the only way to go with these teeth, or can I do something to it myself ? How about cutting this stuff - will a normal bandsaw do, or will I destroy both trying ?

Where did you buy it?? Most who sell it have it stabilized. If not it needs to be. Soak it in CyanoAcrylate ,superglue. When you cut or grind it soak it again. Make sure all the cracks are filled before you go any further. This will keep it all together. just use a good respirator while working it.
