This tusk tip is 15 inches long measured on the outside. It weighs about two pounds. It has nice color with blue and tans. Other than a few small cracks that I filled it is in excellent condition. This tusk would be excellent for display or
handle material. I am asking US $185 shipping included.

that is absolutely beautiful. i have been looking for something like that. but i am leaving on a trip tomarow and need all the spare cash. but if its still around latter.

The diameter at the large end is 2 inches. The cracks are in the large end. The tip would make one nice stick tang handle. You might get one more but I feel its best use is as a table display.

How long out of ground and are the cracks deep, or any on the sides?

I bought this tusk up in Kotzebue a few weeks ago. I do not know how long it has been out of the ground. It seems to be dry. The cracks are not deep.
Here is photo of the cracks I repaired.

I've been gone for a week. Is this tip still available?

Couldn't this be sent to a professional outfit and stabilized like we do with wood?
I know it's thousands of years old and been sittin in the ground for eons but it still makes sense to have it stabilized to add strength to it and fill in the cracks.
Just a thought from an old has been! :D
