Mammoth, W2, Hamon

Dang, Don! You have been on a roll with the big fixed blades. Maybe you should do a few folders to cool off a little? :p

Love the W2 activity. Awesome scales. Handle looks comfortable. If you had more of that mammoth, would be a great one to pair up with a hunter.

It all works for me.

The stuff dreams are made of.

You want negativity, I got negativity--triune negativity--availability, wait-time, and price. At my age even if you would take my order wait-time in days is risky. As for price, if you divide it by 10 I had a snowballs chance in hell before gas prices soared over $3.70. Now . . . forget it.

Don this knife came out great!:cool:

It looks like it would feel great in the hand!;)

Superb job as always Don, but if you'd sand it a little more you can illiminate all those funky marks and lines in the blade though. But you'll learn, just keep at it. :D:D:D

awesome blade. I love the handle really looks like stag at a glance no wonder I like it so much

"Impressive! Most impresive, but you are not a jedi ye-" Oh wait, yeah I... guess you are. Damn that's uh that's pretty sweet there. Could I uh just uh you know borrow it for a little while? Maybe uh a few weeks or a year or something?

That's maybe the nicest hamon I have seen. The knife as a whole is a beauty. I'm always a little reluctant to go with a full tang when carbon steel is used. The chemicals in sweat can stain the steel quite noticeably.

Don,

You are indeed the Emperor of Hamon. This blade rocks the house!

Agree with Kevin in his post, I also like a guard on a big knife. This one is an exception. It flows so well I wouldn't change a thing.

Congrats to the new owner. This one is special (I feel that way about each of my Hanson's and my wife cherishes her's!).

Best,
Rob

Don,

Looking very good, as usual.

I just got the 2" W2 from you and the 1.25 from Chuck today. I am inspired.

Best,

John

Rob, glad you found 'The Custom Knife' forum :D
Very good to see ya here and look forward to a long visit at the Blade show.

John, put that W2 to good use and lets see some blades posted :)

Thanks!

Took me long enough to end my secretive life as a lurker on this forum :D

Problem is now I can't stop checking posts, like some custom knife forum crackhead. My wife is downstairs waiting to go shopping for a sofa as I type this  But then, I cant complain because she's a beautiful, knife collecting partner!!! :) How many are that lucky.

By the way Don, the Wharncliff slipjoint on your homepage is a real beauty! I also look forward to some great conversation at Blade!

Wow, thanks guys!

I guess no one hates this knife :D Where is all the negativity:p

Shawn, I'm bringing more than 4 knives to Blade and yes, I'll post them all:eek:

These replies are very much appreciated.

Here you go.

This knife sucks:eek:!!!! Because I don't own it!!!!:D:D

Great art!

stefanj. I quench W2 in Park's #50 oil. It's the fastest quench oil available.

B&B, I do agree and prefer a hidden tang also.
