Does anyone have any experience shapeing mammoth ivory? Does it require diamond cutting tools?
 
Nope, cuts and sands just like wood. Just use fresh belts and don't let it get hot.
 
Open the window and get a good breeze going through the shop first, it stinks a bit. Not as bad as sheep horn but it has usually been buried in a swamp for 20,000 years or so.
