Man bun???

It doesn't really bother me. If you have long hair and want to put it up out of the way, why not put it in a bun? I don't care what sexual organs you have.

I can't do the long hair thing though. Too hot, and too much maintenance. Oh, and I'm balding. Oh and I'd look fuggin ridiculous.

This however....I don't understand.

Now that is one kick ass manbun! If only I knew about such a thing a year and a half ago, I'd have been the coolest dude with a clip on manbun in the county!

Arbitrary gender associations as defined within a particular regional culture. When I was a child, men didn't wear the color pink, or have long hair. Now it's more common, and gradually becoming less associated with femininity.
There are places in the world where women don't wear short hair or pants. (that came out wrong, I mean they only wear dresses.)
Men in my city wear their hair in pigtails and have huge gauged earlobes and it hardly draws attention.
This! One thing I find fascinating is the whole pink=girls blue=boys thing isn't actually very old and it used to be almost the opposite! Blue was considered calm and comforting and associated with girls, while reds and pinks were vital and manly. I guess that's part of the reason I poke a bit, as perceptions of feminine and manly today will likely seem ludicrous in a short time.

Always good to remember that high heels and wigs were mens clothing, back in the day. ;)

As for the man bun, I'm far too bald for it, but if my beard holds strong maybe I'll bring the beard bun into fashion! :D

You guy must have giant foreheads:p

Its for holding our beer scouts duh!

I remember reading a brief piece on the Pink = Girls thing and it was attributed to a fashion shift in the 1950's IIRC where Pink for women became the new fad and from there created the stigma of femininity tied to the color we see today.

Yeah. Our thoughts are often love handles for change of thought, eh?

Had my first in-person man bun sighting today: a guy in hospital scrubs. I'll pass.

Even though a week is left i figured this was just a bunch of old farts patting each other on the butt. Looking like i am right.. Can dish it out but cannot take it lol

Bring it on dudes! Get a sweet shotty and donate a grand to charity... Unless you cannot grow hair or your boss Says you cant have long hair haha

Ok, you guys have convinced me to give up the man bun to protect my sexuality. I was starting to question myself and caught myself looking at a dudes butt at the gas station last week while he was checking his tire pressure. i decided to switch it up for a more manly style..

The new me!

Are you even reading the posts in this thread? No one has questioned your sexuality. Some folks think the man bun looks a little feminine, and some of us think it's all just silly harmless fashion, and most of us don't care.

Keep the center braid, shave the sides... and you'd have a killer Viking hair style!

I like the looks of the man bun personally. It goes well with a beard. On the flip side, I laugh my ass off at males who try their dambdest to look "manly." It just screams "I'm insecure!" It's right up there with old folks complaining about the next generation. As if their parents and grandparents didn't say the same of them. Only that one says "I'm old and I'm finding it harder and harder to deal with change." That's more sad then funny though.

Since reading this thread I have noticed the man bun even more. At dinner last night at a nice steak house, three waiters had the man bun going. That was a large percentage of the male staff.

I think the bun looks bad on man our women so I equally dislike it regardless of gender. If you have long hair and want to keep it under control out it in a pony tail. I like the way those look. Unless it is mandatory for your job and it might be for a waiter with long hair.
