hey guys recently somebody asked me to purchase a knife for him (you know Europeans) and i quickly found out that buying one is more like hunting itself, can any of you guys point me towards the right direction? man these knives are all so different, diverse, and unique! Out of my newb-ness why would a person take a Busse SH-1 over lets say Chris Reeve Green Beret? 4give me for my newbness and sorry if im out of line, any help direction appreciated, im looking to get SH-1 (LE maybe regular) perhaps Battle Mistress, what do you guys think?

any ideas, help, advice, correction appreciated

Do you mean ASH1LE? The SH1 was discontinued YEARS ago and will be VERY hard to find and VERY expensive.

The ASH1LE (Anniversary Steel Heart) on the Busse Combat page now is an anniversary reissue of the SH-1 with some changes.

As for why to go with the Busse over the Chris Reeve, watch the vids at the links U_J posted. The tests are abusive, and not quite scientific in their approach, but they do give you a god idea of what Chris' S30V is capable of compared to Busse's INFI.

Go with the ASH1LE.

You mention the ASH LE and FBM. Two great knives:thumbup:

It depends on what size you want, but once you get one you will probobally want both.

The ASH LE at .22 with mags is one sweet knife and still available from Busse.
The FBM is still around at good prices, but don't look for that to last.

Tough question....I would get a FBM or FBM LE now before they go up in price. Then even if Busse drops the ASH from site they will still be around for a while at a good price to get later. Or get both now:p

My Chris Reeve/Neil Roberts knife was my best fixed blade before I found Busse. The ergonomics of the Warrior knife are perfect, and it has a great S30V blade. Good weight, size and balance. But after holding a Busse, the Chris Reeve seems small and delicate in comparison. Now when I pick it up, I feel and I need something more. Busse knives are real heavy duty knives. They have heft, and indestructible blades. The ergonomics of the handles aren't as good as a Neil Roberts Warrior Knife, but you feel you can chop down a small tree with a Busse knife.

I love Chris Reeve knives. He makes an excellent knife. I have a 7 in Green Beret, a Pacific and several Sebes. My Busse Jack Hammer fits perfectly in the Pacific's sheath. I also have a ASH 1 LE, a FBM , an AK and a Heavy Duty, with several more on the way. INFI is tougher, holds a better edge, and is esier to sharpen than S30V. Go with the INFI. It is superior.

wow thanks for all of your help people, i found few spots to get them, like ebay and random busse company store,

any other places where i could perhaps be able to hook one up?
Im thinking but i see they re hard to find Busse Assault Ring Fighter (BARF) or some other Hog Fusion Steel Heart

im new here, but do we do trading here as well?

Nice, Looks like we have similar taste.

The BARF is near impossible to find these days. I recommend posting a Want To Buy thread in the WTB: forums. Try to get one asap b4 they fall off the face of the earth...

besides the forementioned advantages of INFI,

I would also add from a collectors side that I had both the Neil Roberts and Green Beret signed editions, and lost my rear end on them later.

not bashing ...just a fact

Busse has its own Buy/Sell Forum here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=804 would recommend it over fleabay, anybody can buy but you must have a gold membership or better to sell

Balislinger says this quit well!!! I had the 5.5" and 7" CR-GB knives, and I as well felt they were lite duty after handling the Busse's. Sold my CR's to get more Busse. Nothing against CR's knives,(still have a Shadow-1) just for me I prefer the heft and style of Jerry's.

i guess i CR blades are quite good just not as collectible, dont hold their value all that great, and Busse lil more durable and hmmm "brute"?

i m gonna be on a look out for a FSN HOG...good idea?

you know im just looking for something new, price range? i dont really have one as long as i find what im looking for

correct me if im wrong, but this bad boy can come with a magnum handle?

it wouldnt make much difference magnum or regular. but i guess handle would have to be black or tan, and like i said a new item (or you know at least looking like new)
