Man caught with knife in shoe at airport. Guess the knife.

My cousin is a hunter. Some years back he lost his go to hunting season knife... looked for it absolutely everywhere but when season came round again and he still couldn't find it, he had to get a new one.

Some time later, he had to fly commercially somewhere... at check-in, the x-ray personnel were very surprised... they pulled him to the side, "Sir, you know there is a large hunting knife in your carry-on?" My cousin was shocked as well, no idea why he had put it there, since it never went in his usual carry-on by default. At least he was glad to get his trusty knife back. ;)

Looks like a Leek to me. I wonder if he just really liked his knife and didn't understand how x-rays work, or if it was malicious.

Yup you people are right. Looks like a Leek.
Maybe he/she thought they would be able to get it by because it says speed safe on it. :D

The family and I just payed a visit to some relatives in Mass. We flew from Florida to Mass with a layover in Philly. As we were unpacking in Mass, my fourteen year old son pulls out his Cold Steel Recon 1 from his carryon bag. He said he forgot it was in there from the last time he used it.

I was amazed that they didn't pick up on it. This is not a small folder... the Recon 1 is a huge knife.

We made sure it went home in our checked luggage.

Seriously, how did TSA miss that?

Maybe the same way they missed this one:

^Clipped to the outside of my backpack (by accident, then forgotten.) Definitely the most "weaponized" knife I own--and labeled "AUTOMATIC" to boot. Made it through security, onto the plane, and onto the airport shuttle where I discovered it and had a silent heart attack.

Well, they do go through thousands of bags a day so I'll give them a little slack. Sometimes though...

Holy crap. I feel safer already. But seriously, I'd be glad they didn't swipe that one.

I've forgotten my Leatherman Wave and a few SAKs a couple times in my carryon and they weren't found until I landed where I was going. Makes me wonder how much stuff actually makes it through the TSA that could be used for no good during a flight. It's a pretty scary thought to me.
