Man Down!! Man Down!!

Nice, both of those! Thanks for the pictures!
I might try tip-up again, just to see if it works for me. The peer pressure to carry tip-up is overwhelming. :D

In all liklihood, I will remain a tip-downer, though. Several of my favorite knives only work that way. And the ZT0550 will always be a tip downer: no flipper, it DEFINITELY fits in my pocket better that way, and the clip makes it a major pain to manipulate the lock, for me. But I really would like to try the 0560 as tip-up for a bit.

I totally agree with you on the 0550, tip down is the only way to go. I do like my 0560 better tip up though. I added instructions for the hangman's knot to my last post if you want to give it a shot.

Also, wow, we are way off topic.

i disagree. feel free to defend this statement, i'm genuinely curious.

As I said, only for back pocket flipper carry. Front pocket, if you have big enough hands/pocket, I guess tip up can work for you.

The way I carry is I have it tucked as far over as I can get on my right back pocket. This helps the same way tip up right front pocket down with assisted knives and having the side of the pocket prevent accidental opening.

The draw stroke is as follows.

A) Pinch the portion of the knife sticking out between your thumb and forefinger.

B) Draw the knife 1/2-3/4 of the way out of your pocket and then bring your hand forward and down slightly.

C) That motion will cause the bottom of the knife to catch on the pocket and rotate up into your waiting palm. With a flipper knife of a Spyderco hole, your pointer or ring finger is right there to flip the knife open.

Think of the stroke as an upside down U. It works like a charm.

The one thing I don't like about my 560 is the clip. I would have preferred even the 550 clip, even though it's not deep carry. I don't really care for deep carry anyway. I just want a solid clip that makes constant contact with the titanium. With the knife is open, the clip doesn't contact the lock bar. If the clip gets touched, it starts to vibrate which gets sent through the entire knife and just has this super cheap sound and feel, like it's so flimsy and loose that it vibrates like a piece of scrap tin.

Either way it will happen again. Do you ever damage seats with your clip hanging out your back pocket?

Carry in your waist band under your belt.

My clip still touches the ti when the knife is open.

I have cloth seats in my car and I am always extra super careful when I sit in a leather seat. I've never had an issue with a car seat before yesterday and that was already because it had preexisting tears in it.
