Man kills bear with knife

I remember that story. Simply amazing, and scary. That's one lucky guy.
 
This guy miraculously fends off a bear and the article's headline is Cubs still not found

Would you buy a knife from the company that made his knife?
They should run an ad with him in it.

But then PETA would probably assassinate him first.
 
Although I think that man was more than little lucky, it sounds like he had the right sort of knife, "machete-like." I'm guessing this knife had at least an 18" blade, something that could stab deep enough to mortally wound even a large predator like a Grizzly bear.
 
And you boys up north call us southern boy's stupid. We don't live in bear country for a reason duh!!!

Where the hell did he stab the Grizzly? He must have somehow managed to stay far enough away to slash until he got an opening, or the bear reared on him.
But if the bear really charged, he should be dead.
I'd really like to know what happened. It's getting to be a required skill.
That or a gun, like in the arctic where the polar bears are a real threat.

I'll take bears and wolves over poisonous snake and spiders.:p

This is at least the third bear killed buy a knife that I've heard of, the others where done in with a Buck 110 and a Buck 119 or 120 can't remember.
Oh and who could forget the grandpa that took out a cougar with a folder, don't recall the model but want to say Schrade LB5 or similar.

What about the old woman several months ago who fought off Mountain lion that was attacking her husband by stabbing it repeatedly with a pen until it took off

And a classic example of a guy who should of bought his wife a knife or better yet a gun.

There was an incident in the 80's where a mountain lion jumped into a car through an open window to get some young child, and the grandmother of the child killed the big cat with an umbrella.
