I don't know how many people here watch Mantracker
( http://www.tsn.ca/oln/feature.asp?fid=10683 ) its a Canadian program on OLN.
The premise is you are dumped in the wilderness and you have 36 hours to make it to a designated "X" on your map.
The problem is you have the ManTracker on your trail. Hes a professional tracker and search and rescue guy and if he catches you before you reach your goal you lose!
According to the website they are still looking for volunteers, i'm just an amateur but i know some of you guys are hardcore, anyone interested?

Hmmm i would love to see him chase Les Stroud, Ray Mears or even Bear Grylls!
lol!

I'd be up for it, but it looks like this expired Sep 06
D'oh!
But still on the page that describes the series they still have a link to the
"volunteers wanted" page.
As far as i know the show has not been canceled and is still in production so i think the volunteer link is still relevant. They can't have a show without new bodies to chase.

Have you ever watched that show? its more scripted than WWE.

I'm pretty sure WWE real. My best friends brothers roommates nextdoor neighbors preachers dog walkers sisters mail guy knows a guy at the meat store whose uncles bosses son once shook hands with a guy in the airport that just came from from a live WWE event so I know what I'm talking about.

The show is a little more 'adventure race' than e&e with contestants generally trying to outrun him. Now put MILES gear on the prey and make the tracker a sniper.....that would be a show !

Yea WWE is for real, and I'm 59 yrs old and can't wait to volunteer. BRING IT ON GRRRR.

That's a really interesting scenario. What about anybody else? Are you trying to imagine this rescue's guy's approach? Ok lets say they dump the volunteer at point A and he has to get to point X, right? Do they dump the tracker at point A and he tracks the volunteer to point X? Or do they dump the tracker at a hypothetical point B and he workes an expanding search pattern until he intersects the track? The tracker could do alot to make the task easier on himself, especially if he knows the location of X, it could almost be an ambush like set up. I predict there will be very few winners if that is the case. What do you all think?

YOu are filmed by a load and track laying, giveaway camera crews while you E&E. Hardly sport for a horse mounted tracker chasing down a film crew with contestant in tow.

I'd like to see the tracker prick chase down a trained E&E military type that will set some nasties in wait for him.;)

Man tracker is to tracking as survivor is to survival nuff said.

BS as usual with these shows.

Skam

Anyway....
Yeah it does seem little unfair him on his horse in pursuit of prey traveling on foot.
But hey lifes not fair and i guess it amps up the drama.
I know its "just a TV show" but i still kinda like it. You can't watch Les Stroud and Ray Mears all the time.
I really wish someone would rerun the "BushTucker Man" though.
Thats a relatively unknown hidden gem.
