Man VS Wild knife?

Come on guys..., give "BEAR" a break!!! He may be a wanker, but he does have his own survival show which, although often ridiculous, is usually entertaining. Besides, the knife looks cool. I think I'll buy a couple for investment purposes. WHO KNOWS?!?!?

free tip - buy stocks not knives for investments, or maybe muscle cars.

i do agree -

*he's a "wanker" (dont know what a wanker is, but to me bear looks like what i imagine a wanker to be)

*he's got his own show.........

*its often ridiculous.......&

*its entertaining, sometimes, of course i also find gene simmons family jewels and "living lohan" entertaining but i certainly am not expecting to learn anything from gene, the lohans, or bear for that matter lol.

he is also, to me anyway, at the least "odd", of course anyone who squeezes water out of an elephant turd & drinks it is "odd" at best, to me, that was absurd imho.

imho les knows more about survival vs marketing.

Whether or not he is a wanker ya gotta give him credit - he has figured out how to travel for a living and get paid for it. I'd eat a few wierd things for his job.

I dunno, I basically stopped taking Survivorman seriously when he used the spring from old drum brakes as a fish hook, tied with shoestrings, and a bubble (from bubble gum!) as a bobber. In about 6 inches of water.

That was a joke.

Other knives Bear has used:

Cold Steel folder.
Gerber folder.
Buck fixed blade.
Victorinox folder.
Dive knife.
Maybe others. Can't remember.

Hey, this guy ate a skunk, among other nasty things,i find the show entertaining to watch,& i'd rather watch his show then that mindless dating crap on vh1 !

Any man that throws himself into quicksand to show you how to crawl out, plunges into chasms in snow fields to show you how "not" to end up as a pile of sushi on the bottom, climbs up and down 90* rock faces that a mountain goat wouldn't attempt, eats the nuts out of a bear sh*t, and flies to the top of Mount Everest using a parachute with a big fan strapped to his a** - is not a wanker in my book! :D

I still can't afford his knife though. :)

I do find him entertaining and i laugh at some of the stupid things he does but id rather watch him than 90% of the other crap thats on TV these days.

I think a Fallkniven F1 would be more knife for a lot less money. Never saw man vs wild show.Watched all the survivorman shows,Les is too granola for me,but does demonstrate some useful skills.

People look at shows like that way too critically. First off, if you want to learn survival techniques you probably wanna get off the couch. It also doesn't really matter what the man has or hasn't done, does it. We all have the common sense to not use some saplings as stilts to get down a mountain faster, anyway... I would rather watch shows like that than 99% of the rest of the shows on TV which are pure garbage.

I actually really enjoy watching his show. I also really like Survivorman. Either one is pretty good entertainment in my book and if I learn something useful in the process than thats a plus. I don't know about dropping 7 bones on his licensed knife (or it WAS his licensed knife) but it is a pretty cool design and looks usefull. I might buy one if it was like $200, probably not actually. I wish he would use some better quality knives now that his contract with Martin is up.

I agree. I do watch him but just for entertainment value. I think he is surely the "real deal", but his show isn't. The one that killed me the most was when he decided to carry about 50Lbs of cable with him, you know, just in case. He managed to stumble across a deer antler (happens all the time). Then threw the antler into a tree across a revine, got the cable across somehow and zip-lined over. That show was the worst one, next to the lava jumping thing.

How that dude always comes across relatively fresh dead animals, is beyond me.
