For the ones of you that watch Bear Grylls (Man vs. Wild) there is a marathon on Discovery Channel. It still has several hours of programming left.:D

Last episode he gave himself an enema with a canteen and some surgical tube to stay hydrated.

That may be the last episode for me.

EDIT: I'd like to add that the hardest men on earth still use hotels when traveling chococrazy.

I know that, but how many hotels do you know that are in the middle of the amazon rain forest ;).

I find watching Bear Grylls is useful for learning what not to do if stranded in the wild.

In the first episode I caught, I saw three things that would kill someone and a bit of obvious fakery.

Although not directed at me. I think jumping off a waterfall is a good one.

Nor jumping in water in sub 0 weather in Antarctica then telling your cameraman to dig out handholds for you, then jumping out taking all your clothes off then do push ups?

Of the two, I prefer Survivorman. It seems more real, as you can tell Les (Stroud) has slept all night on the ground the way he looks in the morning.

Also, I like his reaction when he finds food and makes himself a good meal. Either he's a good actor, or he's genuinely ecstatic at eating a good meal after a few days of nothing.

Of course there has to be some drama created, otherwise we wouldn't watch the show.

Anyone else enjoy Survivorman?

Not since I watched him try to "fish" with the spring from a brake drum, a miniature worm, a shoelace, and a BUBBLE from gum as a bobber. All in water that looked to be about 2 inches deep.

Or, there was the time when he went out with a buddy, horses, and guns....and still starved all week. I KNOW I could have ate better than that.

I am sure that he is a competent REAL outdoorsman, and I watch him occasionally...but he is not nearly as entertaining.

He ate a skunk in one episode, gotta hand it to him, i'd rather starve.& i'd rather watch him then the mindless reality shows !

Ok I have had a question about Bear. What pants does he wear the ones with the black knees? Who makes those pants?
