Man vs wild

I like watching both shows but definitely, Bear's show is more for entertainment. I don't doubt that he can survive out in the wild but almost all the stuff he does is not recommended and would get most people hurt. Les's show I think gives more useful information that the average person can take away from.

Actually I think he did fake this. After being called out by multiple SAS members he doesn't claim this anymore.

The Show should be called Bear's What Not To Do Show.

Not this ---- again.

He still claims to have served in 21 SAS because he did. A 22 SAS member said that BG never served in any OPERATIONS in Africa. The thing is, BG never claimed to have served in any OPERATIONS in Africa.

Well he says he did on his own biography page. :foot:

The 22 SAS is the SAS we all know about. The 21 SAS is a reservist unit of the Territorial Army. The 22 SAS is part of the Regular Army.

That means different things to different people. I think he is implying something that is not accurate.

Almost everything about the guy is misleading. His survival advice is bizarre, to be kind.

Really! Remember 3 of his lucky fans got to go and almost die with him on a fantasy trip with Bear - crossing freezing, flooded rivers and such. Those por guys wanted nothing more to do with him by the end of that show - and they don't re-play it either.

Do you operate a PC? If so, here's a little trick:

Ctrl + f, then plug in the word you are searching for. When entering the word, "operation", I come up with nothing. When entering "SAS" I get this:

SAS (21 SAS)

You BG haters should just stick with hating the show, and not try to play a part in the reverberation of vicious internet lies regarding his military time. That's low.

No PC here. I only own real computers :D

I see the operative word for you is "operation". "Served in North Africa twice" and naming another time in Southern Africa is a totally different thing.
There is nothing low about discussing when someone misrepresents their military service. I have no idea about the UK but it is illegal in the US to do so.

Probably one reason why so many of us veterans are offended by it. But I don't hate him (don't know him). I don't hate his show. I seldom watch it because it is so full of misinformation and he does absolutely ridiculous stuff nonstop.

Your argument lacks facts and is weak. You lie.

If one serves in peacetime, has one served?

Can you specifically point out how BG has misrepresented his military time? I shall not hold my breath.

Which of these survivor host people don't have certain "background" issues? Canterbury's background has been questioned, Bear's has been questioned. Hawke's military background seems unblemished under scrutiny, and Lundin has no military background, but seems legit.

It's TV...

9-11 has been questioned too.

Libel attacks are not right.

les is the only one who really survives on his show, everyone else has a camera crew and shows "tactics". les's show isn't as entertaining as all the rest because real surviving isn't theatrical. in a real survival situation, all of these "stunts" would greatly increase your chances of getting hurt, sick or dieing. i watch alot of the shows mentioned because they entertain me, but survivor man has the most usable info in it.

Bear Grylls has misrepresented just about everything. In fact is there a single solitary thing on his show or about his persona that is actually real?

Dude's a con man.

I suspect that Bear could kick most of this forums ass...

I'll fight him!:mad: And get my fat *ss kicked..lol :D

I think some of Bear's credentials are real check him on Wikipedia. Plus I saw him fly to the summit of Everest with a parachute and a giant fan strapped to his *ss - unless it was a robot or a stunt double!

Try to separate "M vs W" from his military service, Everest and all the other expeditions.
