I went with the crew cut, half inch or shorter.
But then, I do not have to look at me...

Bought a clipper set with vacuum hose 15 years ago and have not paid for a barber for any of us 5 guys since then.

I prefer a little hair where it is, but prefer to have all the hair lines tapered with absolutely no combover. Otherwise, I might go with the Wally look from Dilbert, combing over my ear hairs........
