Oh, I agree. It's not made with the latest super steels, fancy grips, or new innovative lock system. Just a solid utilitarian, hard use knife. I like it, but it's just not what I need for general everyday use.

Agreed. I was talking about some of the production variances through the years. The current Commander has the longer swedge reminiscent of early (98-2000 or so) production. It has symmetrical liners (thickness). Those are just a few traits off the top of my head.
