Just got this in today so I went over the knife and found it to be very nice, Fit and Finish are excellent, blade is centered, solid lockup, no play, grinds are even.

Measured the behind the edge thickness at .030", in the same range as the other Manix 2's that I have seen.

The testing process will be next on rope, cardboard and wood after I put my edge on it.

But for now the 1st Photos of it right out of the box, factory edge etc.

Glad you finally got one. Can't wait to see how it does in your testing. Take it easy though;)

I saw that! That's pretty wild. I meant you take it easy to not aggravate your injury though.

Probably referring to your injury. ;)

Same performance as Mule in s110v expected?

I don't know, it's supposed to have a higher RC at 62-63 vs the Mule at 60 RC...

And the Manix 2 is a lot thicker behind the edge at .030" vs .015" - .018" of the Mule...

So I dunno....

Well it's at 320 cuts on 5/8" rope right now and still going strong, looks like a long way to go. :)

I've already commited to picking one up and this just encourages me. I may even have to bite the bullet and pay someone to regrind it so it's thinner behind the edge.

I think you could get Big Chris to do it maybe....

+1 on Big Chris regrinds. He corrected another custom makers blade for me and I could not be happier. I then had him make me a custom caper in s90v. Great work and an easy person to work with. I would recommend him to anyone.

Also thanks to Anderson for generating valuable information in an easy to digest format. If it were not for his review of the Phil Wilson Southfork I would have stayed away from s90v and Elmax. Yeah I know squat........ Now I need a blade in s110v. Come to think of it I spent over $900 on blades based on Jim's reviews on different knives. Damn if my wife knew that she would kick his a$$ and tell me to stop hanging out here.

That is great Jim. I have thought about getting a 110V Manix2 myself.
