Manix 2 is chock full of Golden Goodness!

I am gonna have to get one of those S90v versions. Damn, this will be expensive. I want a Ti millie too, and I only have a crappy casual job at a fast food joint. From now on, I am saving every cent i get lol.

Biginboca, do you have calipers to measure the thickness behind the edge bevel on the M2 and 0200? My original Manix was around .021"-.023", great for a good compromise of good cutting power and excellent durability. Some other manufacturers, especially of knives labeled as "tough knives" seem to go overboard with super thickedges that just make cutting a secondary feature to bragging rights about how good of a prybar it is. Spyderco keeps everything focused on cutting, even on their hard use folders like the Military and Manix, and I would expect similar from the M2. Mine should be here by This weekend or early next week, and I look forward to comparing it to my Manix and other knives in my collection.

Mike,

Well, I do have a set of digital calipers... but the battery is dead. :o

I don't know if my knife would be a good guide to go by anyway. The sharpening of the edge on my sample is somewhat assymetrical and it is not typical of what I usually have seen from Spyderco. It's not a thin edge though, I would guess it at .025 to .030, but I don't think we should use mine as your measurement sample.

Regards,

Yea, personally I favor the new Manix over the old one due to the ball bearing lock. Seems to me that such a lock has to be stronger than a lockback.

Also, I must be in the majority, but I'm not all that gung ho about a FFG.
