Manix 2 lock difficult to use?

My roommate has had four Manixes, and they all started really hard to open, but they wore in nicely. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm fairly indifferent in the axis versus bbl debate. I love Spyderco, but it is still my technical opinion that it is a copy of the axis lock (as is the arc lock and so on) altered adequately for legal purposes. Spyderco is a great innovator, but for this particular invention, I like to give my money to Benchmade.
 
Yeah, the axis lock is easier, but that doesn't make the Ball Bearing Lock hard. I kind of like the extra resistance, seams more secure. Besides that, the ergos and cutting ability of a FFG Manix 2 is superb.
