Manix 2 or wait for Para 2?

You nailed it between these two knives - the Manix 2, while a great knife, carries wide for even a Spyderco. I will keep a couple around but IMHO, the Para 2 is one of the best knives coming out of Spyderco today, especially the S90V CF It still surprises me how much one knife can pleasantly surprise me with intangibles while other attractive knives have the opposite effect.

As it turns out, the CF S90V Para 2 caught me off guard as to how much I like it and I've had plenty of Para 1's.

This is one super fine EDC! And I'm pretty much talking about the intangibles - sort of "more than the sum of its parts" kind of thing so the standard Para 2 should probably be just as supreme as the S90V version minus the better steel (subjective of course).

I have both para1 and manix 2 and they are completely different knives , but if I had to choose one for edc it would be the para , the manix is just a bit of a pocket hog IMO , I love it as a work knife but it's a bit cumbersome if u need to keep anything else in the same pocket!

thanks for all the feedback guys... i do feel like any choice i make will be decent, but i will wait for the para2.

maybe i'll get a tenacious to hold me over for the time being

bh49 that Manix 2 is torture to someone that loves green G-10 Spyies; Super nice!

This is the primary reason why I bought it. I love my Lil T as well. I wish Spyderco would use more of dark green G10.
Get one, you will not regret.

I own both. I like both as well. Both of them have nice locks, blade length is about the same. Blade on Manix2 is thinner. Para has a little longer handle, Manix2 is a little heavier. I EDC is original C83 for several years, which is even heavier than Manix2, so weight is not a concern for me. The only thing I do not like about production Manix is the grind. But this is easy avoidable due to availability of various limited run, especially if you are looking for black-bladed M2. Just recently I bought my Stag Arms Manix2. This is limited run of 400 pieces. S30V FFG coated blade. All marking is silver. Handle is dark green, the same color like Lil T, but different texture. Lock is smooth like butter.

I love my Manix 2 so much! I reach for it more often than any other folder I own. It just the smoothest and most solid folding knife I have ever held. Just outstanding in every way, IMO. I would love if they made a third gen with FFG like this one, it's absolutely beautiful.

I doubt you'll be able to find a production knife smoother than the Manix 2. All of my Spydercos are smooth, but the CBBL in my Manix 2 is on another level.
