Manix 2 s30v now?

It came in today. Smooth action, standard out-of-the-box spyderco sharpness. I have to say, at least from first impressions, I like it more than the PM2. Tried to disengage the lock with just my thumb (like on a benchmade) but I guess the spring tension is too strong for that. I'll have to get used to it but it looks like a keeper.

Congrats on the knife!

Congrats as well. I also recieved a cpm-s30v manix 2 and its super smooth as well. I think the lock has to really break in for thumb only closing but I don't mind the spring strength. It's a great knife it's hard to see it set while I carryy another knife haha.

how much of a lower quality are the translucent blue manix 2s?

Lower quality?

Well, it does have rivets...lame.

But, the handle is FRCP- Fiberglass reinforced Co Polymer. It's pretty damn tough. I've been carrying mine about a year with no problems. It feels cheap...because people associate it with plastic. Nothing even close to that.

Ever seen a polymer framed large caliber pistol?

How about a custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosure running over 1000 watts?

Just those alone are incredibly strong. Think of the forces involved that they handle without complaint.

Now...how about reinforcing the already tough as hell polymer with the crazy strength of the fiberglass?

I've been just as tough with this one as I am with every steel handled. She's still purring pretty.

Stamped on her is "Golden Colorado, USA Earth"
I got a kick out of the "earth" when I first saw it. Lol

very true, still not sure if its the knife for me, im not a fan of mini grips but i love my mini presido 527 with the full liners

well i got a endura 4 and the 2 manixs yesterday, i dont really care for the lightweight, i like the flat ground blade but would like it even more in s30v, the blade bottoms out when closed, i have a slight line on the inside where it hits. the lock is great on both of them, i would like a different grip on the regular manix 2 though, the full steel liner adds to the grip and the regular has a much nicer looking clip

Just got my S30V Manix 2 in, with the "clear" polymer housing. Definitely does not feel cheap to me.

Haha exactly i don't know how someone could say it feels cheap! It's really smooth and definitley is a big knife. But I can see why they are making them black if you try to imagine what other people think of the polymer and think it's cheap because you can see through it.
