Manix 2 vs. Griptilian

I have the Manix 2 and it ROCKS! It's a great design and heavy duty for sure.

The Grip is a great choice, really versatile blade, handle is comfy in use. But you need to consider your preferred carry choice as the scales are quite bulky for a folder. If you plan to carry it in your jeans pocket, probably not so good... clipped in the cargo pocket of your pants, you almost forget it is there!

I´m looking for a new EDC knife, and i´m stuck between the Spyderco Manix 2 and the Benchmade Griptilian 551

Since both are one handed opening and closing

Both have 154CM steel, and both are hollow grind

And around the same price point.

Im stuck

So what would you suggest and choose??

And at last a question, which is faster?? (the manix 2 and the Griptilian 550 the one with the deployment hole)??

personally, for EDC purposes, the benchmade 550/551 has two advantages over the manix2. the benchmade is lighter (3.8oz vs 5oz) and it has more cutting edge (3.45" vs 2.875"). given your two choices, i would pick the benchmade.

personally i would get the BM550 over the BM551 because i prefer the hole over the thumb stud.

for me, speed of opening is a tie between my manix2 and BM550.
