Heheh. I figured I was pretty safe there...i mean, any fat guy willing to call himself the 500lbman would have had a pretty good sense of humor!

Yo, Louisiana! I found my manix! It's at the customs office here in costa rica being held hostage. Now I've got to go in there and pay off the federales! ;-). Hopefully I get a not too greedy official. At least it's not lost!

Well, step 1, eh? Amazing how the officials work in some places. If Costa Rica is like some foreign countries that I've been in, a little "grease" is not even frowned upon. Expected even. Good that you know where it is, anyway. Good luck. :)
 
I think a better comparison is the Manix 2 (not XL) and the Para2. Of those I slightly prefer the Para because the blade is a little more slicey, the lock a little easier to manipulate (for me) and it isn't as tall when folded so it rides easier in pocket. Both are great, it's really preference.
