Manix 83mm question

I recently purchased a Manix 83mm (80mm on the box) and I just love it. I started using it in the kitchen, cutting chicken and veggies with ease. I just noticed something on the lockbar and I don't think its rust and I'm sure its not blood from the chicken either. Don't know much on steels and stuffs so pardon me, anyone know what it is?

I believe that's a result of something in the manufacturing process (maybe from laser cutting ?). There have been several threads about it. It's not corrosion and it doesn't get worse or have any negative effect on the knife. Several of my S30V Spydercos have it.

Just for future reference, you can go to Google and type in "<your topic> www.bladeforums.com". That's essentially searching the BF DB.
