In all honesty, I wasn't trying to make a stink. The topic of the thread is so absurdly fanboy and silly that it would put any mature knife enthusiast on his bad side.
Nobody here raked him over coals, either, just disagreed. I didn't even disagree because I necessarily thin the Manix isn't one of the toughest folders around, it's just how ignorantly he worded his statement that annoyed me. He's been into to knives on a quality level for what, a few weeks now? He's done no testing, he has no experience, he's just a fanboy running his mouth.
It's not just this one statement, either, but I'm not going to get into that as it really doesn't belong here. I've already gone too far.
Rat has been into Spyderco longer than you have, and knows a great deal more about knives in general. I'd be suprised if he didn't return with some knowledge for you.
The Chinook II is most likely a stronger overall folder than the Manix due to the thicker, hollowground spine, and thicker tip, and that's not even leaving the same neighborhood.
