Manix clip screws breaking?

Even so, that has NOTHING to do with the broken clip screw. He said he couldn’t guarantee he could fix it.

I'm not a pro, but would tell you the same thing. Need to remove the scales to get the broken clip screw out. The Allen/scale screws might have been loktite'd down by whoever installed the scales and you don't know if you get them out until you try. Might be trivial, or impossible. He's just being honest with you.

I understand. I tried to get the clip screw out myself but it was above my skill level. I left the scale screws loose.

Today is the big day- it will be back from Spyderco! I don’t expect anything. Who knows!

I have to admit I wasn’t pleased with my phone call from Spyderco. He said they sent me an invoice (that I never received) that is why it took so long. They didn’t take the broken piece out of the liner either. But - they did send me the correct body screws and 3 clip screws. I guess it wasn’t a total bust.

Just a follow up. I took off the liner and was going to drill this screw out. I decided to get my punch out and see if I could move it. With a very light tap it pushed through and is good as new.
I guess Spyderco was so worried about the screws they didn’t even attempt to disassemble the knife and look at the broken clip screw. Makes me rethink my next knife purchase.
