manix discontinued - is this true ?

I love the Manix. What a great knife, really a classic.

Sorry to see it go.

Perhaps, though, Sal has something even better up his sleeve...
 
Just got a Manix. Now my favorite knife. Great feel. Cant believe Sal would get rid of it. Perfect companion to the lighter slicer Millie
 
The Manix, and in particular the mini Manix has to be on any short list of the best designed production folders of all time. I plan to buy several and put them away, as I think it's going to be a classic.

Hard to believe they don't sell adequately to keep them in production, when you consider the value you get.

Really? These are knives that do not sell themselves--their features have to be sold.

Spyderco lockbacks are the toughest folders made in my opinion.

The only improvement would be a wire clip...
 
Wow sad news... I've played with alot of folders and the Manix is my favorite. All good things come to an end.
 
Strange. I don't see a replacement in the 2008 catalogue, either.

Sad! I still have my Mini-Manix. I don't carry it much in the city due to the length limit, but it is as perfect as a user folder gets.

Have Sal or Kristi given any clues if a new version of the Manix might be added later in 08, say in a supplemental catalog?

I seem to remember when someone asked whether it was gone for good, Sal gave a rather... equivocal response about its complete demise.

Psydotek, you've made the right choice.

This knife is aready a classic and will be much more in the future.

I own one too and would never ever sell it. I have quite a few Spydies by now (the MManix was my 2nd ever) and I have yet to lay my hands on one that has this glass-smooth action and this ROCKsolid feel to it.

A little big for EDC, yes. But one hell of a folder. You won't be disappointed., promised.

Actually, i'm even considering ordering a full size Manix from the Spyderco directly through their website since it's been reduced to street price... I did the same for the Karambit. :)
