Manix in magnamax coming!!!

You all that bought one need to post about how the steel is for us less fortunate ones that can't afford one right now 😂

I'll give my impressions at some point... might take a while if it lives up to the "stainless 10V" reputation. I'm also looking forward to reprofiling/sharpening it to see how that goes.

Anyone know the HRC on these? I have a regular Manix in BDN-1, but I hate that steel. This Manix may be my next Spyderco!

Well, my MagnaMax Manix is taking a joy ride. Went from MI to GA and then back up north to Columbus, OH before departing again, (hopefully), toward NC. Can't really figure out how or why they do this sort of thing...but as long as it gets here, I'll count myself fortunate. Sigh.

It happens because it's in a small package the swampers forget to take off the truck. Then it rides from stop to stop till the truck circles back to it's starting point. Most freight carriers glitch at the idea of finding that trailer, finding that one package, and then redirecting it to it's original destination.

So how do you explain four foot long packages going back and forth between two facilities for a month?

If it ends up in Canada, you're gonna have some 'splainin' to do.

(Currently it's in Greenville, SC...which means it should be here tomorrow if all goes according to the norm.)

I went to factory outlet and picked one up. I complained and stuck out my lower lip and tried to act upset. I wasn’t happy about sticking with the black G10! I actually got a fair ammount of sympathy! But, ultimately, was explained that this will be the standard for the Manix2 going forward…therefore the black G10 sorta owned this ground. Everyone there had a color theory for the MagnaMax, but no one declared it a deal breaker. (I had red AWT scales and blue Flytanium ball cage with blue Lynch clip waiting at home…so i wasn’t really upset!).
I haven’t tested the steel in any significant way, and the platform is a well known given by now. It is everything yould expect from Spyderco.
My one question… it is listed as satin finish. It looks different than other Spyderco satin’s that I have. It looks like more of a wash of some kind? I’m am ridiculous about how my blade looks. I clean my DLC’s constantly. I have greasy fingers apparently!? This blade seems to show more than many others. Anyone else notice such a minor thing?
I really don’t mind at all. It sorta gives me an excuse to show it off while wiping it down (everytime someone new comes in the room). I don’t want this to sound like a complaint, it is way more an observation!
I really like the knife! It is getting lots of carry time and hasn’t disappointed (nor do I expect it ever will).
I guess I’m just curious if anyone thinks finish is any different? And if so, any opinions ?
Thanks!
