What is the best angle to use when sharpening my Manix? I cut up about 200 lbs of cardboard this morning and have to get her back to shaving sharp!

Thanks!

Try the magic marker trick and see if you can use the 30 degree setting of the Sharpmaker (assuming you use one), otherwise the 40° setting is perfectly fine, too.

Murdoc370 has the right idea. I use my mini-M and my Paras outdoors and they all touch up nicely on the 30 degree setting. If you're not sure about your blade's bevel angle, try the Sharpie trick that he suggested. 40 degrees will work well enough and probably give you a little more robust edge, it just won't slice quite as easily as the 30 degree edge.

Where are you in AK? My best mate and his wife work for the FAA and just this month transferred to the Juneau office from ATL.

Thanks Dale. I went with the 30 deg angle. Ouch! I could shave the hair off a moscuito if I was fast enough to catch one. It didn't take long either...about 15 minutes. Not too bad considering this is the first time I have had to sharpen the Manix since buying it 4 months ago.

I am just south of Juneau...in the banana belt!!
