Both of these knives are highly regarded around here. If you had to choose one which would you choose and why?

I didn't vote in the poll because I don't have the Manix (yet), but I really like my ritter grip. Can't believe that something with these handles gets me goin' this much.

I have both. Both are good knives.

I pick Manix as it is more solid, heavier, and longer.

The Ritter will do good for pocket carry, as it is lighter.

Ritter.

Better blade shape for my purposes, axis lock, grip more adaptable to other gripping styles for my hands and uses.

I prefer the Ritter Grip. I like the that it has less choil, lighter weight and the handles fits my handle very comfortably.

It's plenty tough, besides most of us always accompany a folder with a sturdy fixed blade.

The regular Griptilian is already pretty decent and the Ritter blade brings it to the next level!

Sorry Manix, Ritter wins this one!

Hmmmm, interesting comparison question. I do not own a Manix but I do own 3 Spyders and I like em, especially my Native SC41PBK. Both have CPM-S30V blades and are in the same price range. I think I would rather favor the Manix's ergos and G-10 handle somewhat. But, overall I gotta say Ritter for me because of the Axis lock, thumbstud, and hefty blade config and grind. Close call though.:D

Dude, you guys are smoking CRACK asking if a Ritter Grip compares to a Manix. I'm sorry, they arn't even in the same league. Comparing a Manix to a Seb, or a Strider, ok, thats fair, a Manix to an 806, I still think the Manix wins but it'd be close.

But a freaking Griptillian? No way. Just hold both. The handle shape AND materials are both superior on the Manix. I'd say that ergonomics are the most important aspect of a knife, and the Grips just don't have that great of Ergos.

In terms of smoothness, I'dsay they're both even, although the Manix seems much more well built. Just hold it, thats all you need to do. :D That will tell you right away which knife is better.

I've owned a Manix, and love the blade, though I don't see where all the hype I've been reading about it comes from-it's almost funny to see such a thinly ground blade on an overbuilt handle being embraced by the "heavy-duty" crowd just because of a strong lock.
The BM is easier to carry, and lighter. Has a great all-around blade shape, though not as pointy as the Manix. Both have comfortable and secure handles.
I prefer the blade on the Manix, but it's a clunker due to it's width, and the size of the handle, so I voted for the Ritter.

I carry a Paramilitary most of the time :)

that axis lock is nice, but Manix all the way! G10, REAL solid construction, spidey sharp and full flat grind? cmon

I would choose the Manix.
Although the blade shape and axis lock of the RitterGrip are great, I don't like thumbstuds. The Manix feels a bit stronger and the handle works better for me.

I would vote for the Manix but for some reason I can't vote on this poll.

Maybe. Probably.

Well, in which aspect?
Quality?

There are links to our German Messerforum, with very nice photos ;)

I would not compare them, Manix is a very good knife in general, I like it, but I'm sorry, they arn't even in the same league ;)

No, they have them - for me :)
And Manix has it not - for me :)

Manix has a longer blade with almost equal cutting edge, even slightly shorter (M: 83mm, RSK: 84mm), it's much heavier (M:174g, RSK:108g), it's not so comfortable in a pocket, because too wide, and... it's enough for me.

I'm big fan of Griptilian's ergos, for me they're best in this aspect, sorry

Maybe for the selfdefence Manix would be better, but not as EDC.
For me ;)

Yes, but I don't need it.

Own and use RSK, held Manix (many times), like it, as already written, but Ritter is better - hands down :)

No crack, no alcohol, no cigarettes, no offence ;)

Ritter... no question at all IMHO. Extremely functional modified drop point flat ground blade. AXIS lock is as strong and reliable as they come and the ergos are outstanding and screwed construction for user assembly/disassembly is the only way to go for me. If I could change anything on the RSK I would give it G10 and full liners but even without those "wishes" being granted I would (and do) still choose the Ritter. I almost bought a Manix a while back after reading about it hear on the forums. I went to my local dealer to handle it and it didnt take long at all to realize it was not the knife for me. In all fairness though, I am not a big fan of lockbacks and I am a big fan of the AXIS lock. The only lockback I own is a Spyderco Atlantic Salt and I must admit that if BM ever made an AXIS folder in H1 it would take me all of 2 seconds to put the salt on ebay and buy the AXIS. ;) I don't foresee BM making an AXIS folder in H1 any time soon though so I will keep my Salt.
