Would it be fair to say that the Adamas is the more overbuilt of the 2? Anyone that can compare both?

The Adamas is clearly the stronger knife, but the Manix 2 XL is probably better at actually being a knife, judging by its geometry. I intend to purchase the latter sometime in the near future.

Had both sold the Xl I love the adamas though IMO its one of the best knives bench made has to offer.

I agree.

Interesting to hear a comparison between the Adamas and Manix 2 XL. How about a comparison between the Adamas, Manix 2 XL and the ZT 0560 and ZT 0200? The 0200 seems like a pretty tough knife to me.

I would take the Adamas as I haven't even held one, but they are terribly popular. I also like my SuperLeaf and really appreciate the compression lock (as found on the PM2). The SuperLeaf G10 isn't cut out as nicely at the lock release lever, but is still just fine with me. I've had two; actually still have two NIB. I think it's a hidden gem that sells cheaply these days.

ZT0200 is a BIG knife. 0560 is about the same length, but significantly slimmer and more pocket-friendly. I'd say the Manix has the slimmest overall profile and the Adamas is the most "boxy." There's a reason the Adamas comes with a nylon sheath.

Funny how you picked 4 knives I actually have. The 0560 (mine is the 0561, but its just a different color) is my current EDC. Carried the 0200 for a while and even in jeans it was a little bulky, but I love it so I've carried it a lot. My Manix2 XL replaced my 0200 for pocket carry, and I've only ever carried the Adamas in a pack, although the deep pocket clip is a great addition.

Pictures of the Adamas don't really do it justice. It's a big mother. I trust it as my camping folder, although I wouldn't hesitate to take the Manix out into the woods.

Adamas is pretty huge for pocket carry but is hell-for-stout! If you need a big knife that can take hard hard use then it fits the bill. Its more of a ranch/camp/military knife than a casual EDC.

Here are my biggest knives. I'm wanting a Manix 2 XL, but I'm not sure if I want an Adamas or not.

I own and love both but the Adamas is definitely more rugged and overbuilt than the M XL.

Thanks for all the replies. I have an Adamas. It is my EDC:eek: I love it. I was just wondering if the Manix XL was a comparison but it doesn't seem like it from the replies. What made me wonder was I saw on a reputable dealers website that the Manix XL weighed 6.2 ozs. That is an ounce heavier than what it shows in last years catalog. It just got me to thinking if they changed something or beefed it up. After some further research it seems it was just a misprint on the sellers website.
