Manix2 XL vs Military S110V vs Crooked River : which of these larger knives would you pick for edc?

The manix 2 is my favorite folder. However, when I had the chance to handle the manix XL, it was just too big for comfortable pocket carry for me. It does take up a lot of pocket real estate. I can work fine for some occasions, but I wouldn't try carry one to the office.

I just checked out the BM custom shop Crooked River options. Pretty cool. Any idea what the wait time is once a custom shop order is placed?

Around 7 days. Just placed an order. UPS is taking longer to get here than it actually took to make it. Should have used USPS.

As far as which to go with I don't care for the aesthetics of the Manix 2XL. I like the Manix but the 2 looks rough. The Military I'm not crazy about the liner lock. Also the tip can be fragile. The Crooked River is a great design and wins of the three for me. The Military is second.

Tough call.

Had the Manix 2 XL since 2013, used it as my work knife since then. Has only the tiniest bit of side to side play if I really try hard to find it.
A fitter at work liked my XL so much he got one, and that one has a little more side to side play, but not too much.
IMO the XL definitely needs the deep carry clip, carries so much better and there's a bit more there to grip with the fingers to make one handed closing easy. Love my XL, the ergos and full liners give a feeling of secure grip and strength that's completely confidence inspiring. Having the large XL in pocket is fine for me.

I'm real pleased with the CR, gotta love the Axis lock, and the thing is so easy to carry. Aesthetically awesome too, I haven't used it anywhere near as much as the others, but it seems durable.
As pointed out, it's not slicey like the other 2.
I'm hoping BM realize they need to make the midi CR now, 3 3/4" like the Buck 110. That would hit the CR series out of the park for me.

I'm a tip up guy, but I have no prob adjusting to carrying the Military. Easiest to carry of the 3 I think. Liner lock is so well done on the Millie too, though I prefer the CBL or Axis. And you're specifying S110V.
I'll say tip up Military with contoured scales and S90V is pretty awesome  though I guess that's out of your parameters.

Having spent too much time pondering this, I have now concluded the answer is - all 3. Pic to show it happened.

Ok, if it has to be only one for general EDC, I'd go Military, for the highly utilitarian nature of it and the edge holding of S110V.

Awesome pic. Thank you.

I own both Manix 2 XL an Millies, if I am doing bushcraft I carry the Manix 2 XL, if I am going downtown and want a better defensive tool I carry the Millie. The tip on the Millie is not near as stout as the Manix, I love them both and think you should own both.

I don't have a Manix XL (have a Manix 2). I do have a CR and a Military. IMO, the Military would be my choice for all around knife. It has a very neutral handle that feels comfortable in many grips. The CR is a great knife, and I feel that the large bolster aids in grips that help carve... things that might require a little more dexterity in the cut. I think they could both be used for the same things, but the Military has a more generic feel in hand for me... which is what I like in an EDC. I think taking the human equation out of it, both knives are more than capabale for most tasks.

Just my opinion.
