dont have the slipjoint, but have the peak 2 midlock one. it's pretty good on mine. very tiny bit of up and down blade play. extremists will notice it, others wont. the edge isnt sharpened at 15 degrees as claimed. its variates along both sides like all hand sharpened do. all in all pretty decent quality and value. I'll be adding more when they get some stock in......Who out there has a Manly slip joint knife? How is the fit and finish on these knives.
Great testing, D Dean51These are the comments I posted in the Reviews section.
Well fit but not really designed as a fancy show knife. One thing to add the Wasp is one of the best cutting/slicers you'll find in a modern knife.
"Just got this in Friday, So far I like it.
The first thing you'll notice is it is much easier to open than the Comrade. It came working sharp which is as good as I'll describe a factory edge.
I put a clamp on the blade and measured the pull at 3/4 pound, on the first two stops. The Comrade measured 2 pounds, on the first two stops. That heavier opening pull is what kept the Comrade from being a favorite worker.
Measured the thickness behind the edge at .012, this is a very good slicer.
This is my first S90V, I'm going to like it."
I’ve used both the slip joints as outdoor knives in the Pyrenees. They work exactly as they should, for what that’s worth. Thanks for the replies. Will check out Testing and Reviews on these knives.
Very interesting, thanks. I might have to do a disassembly and take a look at the innards!I like mine for what it is, but the fit and finish on my S90V wasp was quite poor, as I found out when I took mine apart. I think they actually cut the liners out with a CNC plasma cutter, as the rough scale and scorch marks on the liners inside of the handle looks just like it. It was also full of what looked like motor oil for lubricant.
For the money I don't really mind though. The HT appears to be right on, which is all that matters.

I was in the same boat. I ended up going with D2 on my Peak as the uplift was pretty high and I like D2. I did go with the S90V on my Wasp as it was only about $25 more than 12C27.Thanks for posting this, I'd never heard of them, now trying to decide if S90V is worth 45 dollars more than D2 for a Peak folder.
