Man's best friend versus man's responsibilities

Get rid of the dog. It's not even a question IMO. I have two large outdoor dogs and had an indoor dog until we had infants. The indoor dog had to go. It's a matter of safety for your kids. Get another indoor dog when your kids get older.

i have a male and female dog and when my niece i over about 3 days a week the male loves her and the female ignores her, note my niece knows not to bother her when she is in her crate that is her room, just like any girl the female can be a b**** at times

Things happen in life--especially the life of parents!

Exactly. My original post was probably just a knee-jerk reaction to the events of the prior evening. My wife gets frustrated with our dog from time to time and I was just worried that this would be the straw that broke the camel's back with regards to getting rid of Peanut. We've both since calmed down and took ownership of the fact that it was us who created the situation. We're also somewhat confident that Peanut didn't actually jump on Bailey as there were no marks, bruises or other indications that she'd been jumped on. I think Peanut barking coupled with Peanut jumping on/around her scared her, but then when we both freaked out, she sensed our fear and things snow-balled from there. Thanks again for all of the comments and support.
