I played "The Trooper" on my vehicle com system when I rolled into Iraq in 91'. Then a lot of Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath while sitting around watching the Kurds.

Mussorgsky's Great Gate of Kiev

Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition is fantastic!

Also, Joe Cocker's version of High With A Little Help From My Friends, the Stones Sympathy For The Devil, and Melvin Taylor's version of Texas Flood.

Van Halen: Mean Street, Icecream man :o
UFO, Lights Out, from Strangers in the Night, best gituarsolo ever by Michael Schenker.
Sisters of Mercy: Alice
Linkin Park: In the End
U2: I will follow
Faith No More: The gentle art of making enemies
Rammstein: Hass
Joy Division: Excercise One
Pearl jam: Jeremy
Nick Cave: Tupelo

any of these make me happy
and a couple a hundred more
I even like Madonna :D

Hednigarna's album Hippjokk just rocks from beginning to end. Swedish Folk Metal... Viking Tribal music. hard to pin down. Only two songs have lyrics; one is about two dwarves that are hacking their way throgh a troll camp (traveling in different directions). They just kind of nod at each other and resume killing.

More Viking Tribal Music is In Extremo, but they are as likely to use bagpipes as a bass guitar. Great bands.
