You can say one thing for the mall ninja toys; They give everyone else a good laugh!

My question is what idiot thought up that design, I wouldn't admit to it if you paid me, then lying about the steel wow

Holy Crap! 12 screws on each side of the handle not including the pivot?? Talk about ease of maintence!

Anyone else think Extrema Ratio Rao when they see that knife? And yes I'm only talking the general lines and outline not the "scales", cutouts in the handle,, *apparently* lefty only clip placement:rolleyes: or anything else on that absolutely heinous contraption!

I would rather have the knife's weight in raw stock of titanium, g10 and s30v than that POS!

I like the two cutouts on the blade. Just in case the first one didn't compromise the integrity of this "hard use" blade they made sure and put two.

ive seen a custom version that is all ti with a damascus blade. same scale attachments and weird grooves and cutouts.

$1600.

You people seem to be forgetting that this laughable object was produced to appeal to 15 year old mall ninjas so they could impress their equally vacant minded friends.

I'm sure it will be very successful.

.

And please don't forget that purchase automatically enrolls you in the Mantis Militia.

Yeah! AS IF the mariachi band that is the design of that folder is not enough of a reason not to buy it. The threat of being drafted into the Mantis Militia certainly would seal the deal.

---------------

Looking online, please, anyone correct me if I am wrong, but I think the knife goes for about 179 usd, and it is made in Taiwan.

Well, I must compare with others. For 140 I can buy a Spyderco Chokwe also Taiwan made, which ALSO has titanium (framelock) and S30V steel. AND....with Spyderco you buy from one of the most respected (and rightly so) manufacters in the business, namely Sal Glesser. AND you don't have to wonder whether the S30V is really S30V, or titanium is really titanium.

You can buy most SPydercos for that price, or much less. Many of them American made, but don't overlook the others like the CHokwe or Gayle Bradley for example.. (BTW 5 percent of the profit from the Chokwe goes to a children's charity in Africa in keeping with the African design origins of that knife)....

Then there's Emerson knives too. From another absolutely stand up guy in the business. American made knives, you can buy pretty much the majority of Emersons for that price (and many for less).

There's no comparison IMHO. No reason to bother with Mantis.

I have seen the Chinese knock-off of that knife on ebay. Didn't know there was an "original". Yikes.

I need a 4" tanto folding smatchet with multiple strike points, made from Unobtanium, wth a retail of 24.95 and one, large Brown Egg, maybe Mantis can help?

What is amazing to me is with all the design and manufacturing and assembly and extreme marketing that they just couldn't sit down and make something good. I mean I love 4" + blades for hard use and with the price as is it seems like your just paying for a ugly body kit!

It looks like mantis took the ZT 0500, tactically killed, uh, i mean, redesigned it, and called it their own.

That thing appears to be the biggest hunk of shit ever devised by the hands of a lying spamming mall ninja to date.

That looks like something a little kid that watches too many rated R movies would draw.
