Mantis knives?

It's pretty hard for me to even believe a person could manage to "stab" this model "into a power pole" far enough manage to hold his weight as he bore down with force and "then launched himself over a fence". Even if the knife could hold up to the strain. Power poles are very hard and it would require a lot of strength (maybe even a hammer)and a sharper point to get a knife in that far, IMO. (just noticed they call the tanto point a "plow point"):D I have no idea how sideways would even be possible?" Unless he just means the knife its self is facing the person sideways.

I think its safe to say he saw this pic while he was perusing the ExtremaRatio web site for "inspiration" for
that knives design. It would seem he got the inspiration for a good old yarn from this picture too

I just visited the Mantis web page and I have only this to say.

Skits O'Frenic Facepalm, when even he's taken aback.

I notice they had a team of metallurgists working with their research dept. develop a new "high speed tool steel". It's so secret they can't release details despite it being "tougher than a coffin nail", and "able to cut circles around D2 and 440C".

Yeah. I really do believe them just like I did with their BG42 knives that RC'ed in the middle 50's that were made in china. Yep, I believe the hell out of them, really I do. :(

One guy on the forum stated it could cut diamonds too. Man, I got to get some of that stuff!

They may have been mistaken. I think it was Taloner's balcony, not a fence, and the guy who launched himself was actually Zobair!;)

Just looked at thier website...r they serious??? It looked like half of thier knives would have embarressed mall ninjas...even mall ninjas can find better knives at thier local truck stop...just saying...

I posted this got busy and forgot to check back---ya looked at the site too---Dork Ops comes to mind. Looks to be all Chinese junk.

Guess I'll have to bite my tongue and let em be happy---I think he said he paid $160 for whatever he got---and was happy he got such a good deal.

Oh well--sometimes people have to learn the hard way.

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind............this is one of those times :)

Those famous words of P.T. Barnum come to mind when I think of Mantis Knives.

There are people here that like them. I just prefer not to patronize the types of knife companies that exemplify the behavior that Mantis and others exemplify. To each their own.
