Mantis utlitlity tools

Please continue. Eventually you'll convince yourself.

Spamming is evil to the owners of the forum, unless Mantis pays for the privilege. Either way, it's not Mantis' hangup, but that of Bladeforums.

Since this is Bladeforums, not Mantisforums, their behavior is not welcome HERE. Why this is too complicated for you, I wonder. Of course, even paying for the privilege does not entitle a member to spam the way Mantis and his minions did.

It is exactly the same as the shoe spammers and the phone spammers: using Bladeforums improperly as their billboard.

Yup, I agree Esav. I call 'em camp rules -Come in my camp, you obey my rules. I go into your camp, I obey your rules. Simple as that.

Ooooh yeeeeah, JD Smith:cool:

How's that workin out for ya Reeek?

Gibby

p.s. Isn't this place just full of surprises???

I'm beginning to consider the JD Smith one of my favorite Spydercos right now. I bought the second one after carrying my first for a week or so now.

I love the blade geometry for a light to medium duty EDC and it is built flawlessly. At least this first one I have is. I'm loving it.

Shecky,

Bernie Madoff called...
he wants his ethics back.

Good grief man. :thumbdn:

This isn't a matter of ignoring maliciousness, but imagining it. Spamming is evil to the owners of the forum, unless Mantis pays for the privilege. Either way, it's not Mantis' hangup, but that of Bladeforums. That Mantis may be unrepentant is neither here nor there, since the spamming has pretty much stopped since the initial outrage. Which actually does not put it in the same category with shoe and phone spammers. Not to mention shoes and phones generally have nothing to do with knives. To equate the two is more proof that more hyperbole is being exhibited by forum members than ever by Mantis. In addition to this whole silly song and dance being performed whenever Mantis is mentioned, having nothing to do with the products or even the ethics of the company, despite the claims to the contrary.

The two are being equated simply because they are treated the same way by the BFC staff and since the actions by spammers are nothing more than advertisement on the backs of people who actually pay for a site to exist. Anyone who makes excuses for that type of action obviously has an inability to understand right and wrong.

What they did was wrong. That is not hyperbole to any reasonable person.

Not even close to being accurate. Not a BFC hangup. Just a rule. Funny how it also corresponds to the way the knife community also looks at simple right and wrong.

What they did was wrong. That is not hyperbole or anyones hang-up.
Just a solid cold fact that is true and it has everything to do with a company's ethics when they solicit customers with free knives to go out and spam knife forums.

The actual hyperbole in this fact is only due to not being able to tell the difference between simple right and wrong. Integrity is really not that hard of a concept to grasp.

There are many companies which I choose to not support and this guy is one of them. If he hadn't behaved the way he did here I would look at his products. However, I don't wish to give a man like that my money!

Maybe if he (and I) am still around in 10yrs and he learns some ethics I may reconsider.

For now, I stick with companies which more closely share my ethics.

I've met him in person and he's kind of a prick. You'd think that a man with such an inflated ego would stay away from sharp and pointy things. :D

Just on the look of their knives I would not buy them. I like tools that look like tools. I do not need pink rings on my knives.

Knives that look like fantasy knives are a red flag to me.

Then there is the matter of the famed Mantis Militia...

Bravo!. Well put. I just thought it worth repeating for some here who just cannot seem to get it, no matter how plainly stated.

You're right Bastid. You know how that 'ole copying/counterfeiting thing went. Same kind of response here.
0 integrity.
